Ravelry is full of wonderful things.  Knit-A-Longs, Crochet-A-Longs, charity projects, swap groups, pattern groups, area and pasttime groups.  You name it, you can find it on ravelry, as long as it’s to do with knitting, crocheting, spinning etc (wool/yarn related crafts).

I found and joined this group:

Click me! I'm a link!!

And it works something like this:

You sign up and get allocated to one of the 4 Hogwarts Houses.  Each term (a term is 3 months long) you knit or crochet projects (homework) that fit in to the class description and submit them to earn points for your house.  You have to submit a minimum of one projecta month, but if you want to (and have the time to) submit a project for all 6 classes a month you can.

The classes publish what criteria the projects must fit on the 1st day of each month within the term.

This is my first term in the HPKCHC, and I have been sorted to Hufflepuff. YAY!

January’s classes are:

***Charms Winter 2012***

Craft something that supports or helps you achieve one of your new year’s resolutions.

Craft gloves, mittens or fingerless mitts to represent the way that the Unbreakable Vow wraps around the hands.

So that is a summary of the HPKCHC classes this month.  I’m still trying to decide which ones to do, and am hoping that some of the projects I’m currently working on will fit in nicely!

It’s a really fun project ot be part of, why not go and have a look yourself?
